two new extensions :: 22/05/2001
I finally had a wee bit of free time left, and I even had time for extension building. The results are resolution based window open and fit window to screen. The first one opens up a pop up window that occupies the whole screen, the second makes the current browser window occupy all screen-estate (such a precious commodity).

Another one for spanish speaking people, more on president Bush's "bright ideas" (drilling for oil in Alaska basically). If you're wondering what the hell this is a short explanation: "Las Noticias del Guiñol" is a satirical news program, broadcast every day by Canal+. It started of in the early eighties in Great Britain as "Spitting Image", and Canal+ in France transformed the format from a series to a daily news broadcast. Canal+ started braodcasting the program in Spain in the middle of a program ("Lo mas +"), however, "Los Guiñoles" became more popular and now it's shown every day just after the "real" news. It's popularity is due to the fact that the politicians can say what they "really" think during this program, which often leads to hilarious circunstances. If anybody knows about a version of this program then let me know.

an ol' timer returns :: 11/05/2001
I’ve been quite busy lately, real work is cutting into free time, so there hasn’t been any change here, and there’s none now. But there is one thing that dreamweaver users and extensioneers can be happy with: Andrew Wooldridge has developed a new extension (first in a year), and says he’s falling in love with dreamweaver again. Could be very good news, as some of the first DW users will know Andew was one of the first and finest extension developers. Go check out his new site.

DynAPI has now reached version 2.53, in this release they've solved the most serious problem the api had: memory leaks in IE. So you'd better head over there and pick up your fresh copy.

Opera 5.11 released :: 25/04/2001
Opera have released a new version of their browser, they're now up to 5.11. I haven't had time to have a good look at it yet, but it does look like they've added support for new Option(), which now returns '[object HTMLOptionElement]'. Exactly what the specs say. But, alas, no support for document.createElement(). A real pity, maybe they'll get that far when they reach 5.5.

bugfixes :: 19/04/2001
Looks like I seriously screwed up two days ago; I thought I'd gotten rid of all of the bugs in my extensions,yesterday I had a look at my inbox and there was an email telling me it was not so. A fresh installation of UD and quite a bit of testing later and now I can (almost) assure that they're bug-free now. Here's a quick tip: after a fresh install of DW/UD make a copy of your configuration (eg "confuration.fresh) folder, you can now use this folder to test the extensions you develop or to restore your original DW/UD configuration. Rename your configuration folder (eg. To "configuration.current") and rename the copy you made to "configuration" Hey presto! You've got a clean DW/UD installation.

tree :: 17/04/2001
I've posted a new version of my tree script. It has quite a few improvements: changed data structure and easy customisation. Also if you are experiencing any problems with my dreamweaver extensions then download them again, I accidentaly posted a version of my extensions that were missing a file. Sorry about the trouble, if you've had any.

Explorer Bars :: 16/04/2001
Now you can add your own explorer bar to IE6. You can pick up Add Explorer Bar from the dHTML section. The spec for explorer bars is not quite definite yet, but I don't expect too many changes. You can find some links to pages that explain how to develop your own explorer bars.

DynAPI 2.5 :: 09/04/2001
The boys developing DynAPI have released a new version, it's now up to 2.5. Biggest changes are in the event model, there's improved NS6 support (read DOM-compatible browsers), and of course many bug fixes. Head over to the official site and dowload your copy.

virtual drive galore :: 05/04/2001
I've ported my i-drive extension, and while I was at it also created a similar extension for FreeDrive and Xdrive. They use more or less the same system so it was a doddle to make them. You can pick them up from the app server category.

I'm also pretty worried about Mr. Bush's refusal to comply with the Kioto treaty, basically because the USA is the country that pollutes most. Worse though is the knock-on effect of other countries saying "Well if the USA won't reduce its C02 output, then why should we." Mr Bush seems not to realise the damage we've already done to the planet, nor that one day we might have kids who'll start asking some pretty nasty questions along the line of: "If you knew what you were doing, why did't you try to stop it." Anyway on a lighter note: If there are any spanish speaking Americans out there, have a look here or here.

still porting :: 02/04/2001
I'm still busy updating the extensions. six down, quite a few to go. The newest addition is the opacity suite, this one has grown out of the old set opacity behavior and now also includes a fade opacity behavior and the stop fade opacity. get the suite from the dHTML category.

www.thecomb.net goes live :: 27/03/2001
I finally got around to updating the whole site. A lot of stuff has changed; new job, new apartment, new website are just a few of them. I'll be pretty busy adding the content to this website, so you can expect content being added here. For the time being those that came searching for dreamweaver extensions can have a look around here.There's more to come so keep your eyes open. enjoy.
